DepEd, FAPE gear up for Grade 8 with seminar-workshop on materials development
A total of 112 writers of instructional materials from both the private and public high schools went through a rigorous training of unpacking the standards, designing and organizing assessment and learning activities with Dr. Miguel Rapatan, consultant to the training program of FAPE from October 20 to October 24 at the PHINMA Training Center in Tagaytay City.
During the five-day seminar-workshop, the writers developed unit learning plans, which included unit assessment map and unit activities map, and instructional materials that adhered to the Grade 8 standards and competencies of the K to 12 program. DepEd consultants, namely Dr. Nilda Sunga for English, Dr. Minnie Rose Lapinid for Math, and Professor Magdalena Jocson for Filipino, and BSE curriculum specialists headed by Dr. Jose Tuginayo, Jr. of the Curriculum Development Division were present to support the writers.
Dr. Lolita Andrada, BSE director, gave a talk on assessment and Dr. Carolina Porio, FAPE executive director, welcomed the participants.
